PokerStars was originally a Costa Rican company, Rational Enterprises, which was majority owned by the Israeli Scheinberg family.   The company was subsequently moved to Onchan , Isle of Man .
PokerStars’ parent company, The Stars Group (TSG) – now called Flutter, has secured a partnership with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians Gaming Authority, gaining first skin market access for real-money online poker, casino games and sports betting in Michigan.

Dublin-based Flutter purchased the Canada-based Stars Group for about $6 billion and will now own about 55 percent of the newly merged company.
Global gaming giant Flutter, parent company of PokerStars, in its recent call earnings, revealed that it has acquired a majority stake in India’s skill-based company Junglee Games. The acquisition was completed in January this year, with the global gaming giant buying a 50.1% controlling stake of the Indian startup—a deal worth £48 million ($66.2 million).
Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of global online poker giant PokerStars, has been consolidating its position as a global leader in the gaming industry. The company already operates (via Sachiko Gaming Pvt Ltd) the ring-fenced PokerStars India poker platform.
The Stars Group told investors that it was in “a transition year” during the company’s earnings call to present results for Q2 of 2018. CEO Rafi Ashkenazi certainly has his plate full. PokerStars reaches deal with Kentucky. In what seems like a dispute that’s gone on forever, PokerStars’ parent company recently settled litigation with the state of Kentucky. The state has been pursuing damages from the company for allowing Kentucky residents to use the site from 2007-11.
